Fertilization & Root Zone Care
Deep Root Fertilization for Stronger, Healthier Trees
Urban and suburban soils are often compacted, nutrient-depleted, and poorly aerated — far from the rich forest floor conditions trees evolved in. Deep root fertilization bypasses these problems by injecting a balanced nutrient solution directly into the root zone under pressure, giving your trees the nutrition they need where they can actually absorb it.

What You Get With Our Fertilization & Root Zone Care Service
Direct Root Delivery
Nutrients are injected 8–12 inches into the root zone — bypassing compacted surface soil and delivering directly to the active feeder roots.
Soil Aeration
The injection process fractures compacted soil, improving aeration and water infiltration — often as beneficial as the nutrients themselves.
Stress Recovery
Trees recovering from construction impact, drought stress, pest damage, or poor pruning respond well to deep root fertilization.
Annual Programs
We offer annual fertilization programs for clients who want to maintain long-term tree health across their property.
Our Process
Root Zone Mapping
We identify the tree's critical root zone and probe the soil to plan injection points.
Soil Testing (Optional)
For targeted treatment, we can test soil pH and nutrient levels to customize the fertilizer blend.
Deep Injection
We inject a balanced slow-release fertilizer solution at multiple points throughout the root zone under low pressure.
Follow-Up
We monitor response over the following growing season and adjust timing and formulation for future applications.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is deep root fertilization different from surface fertilizer?
Surface granular fertilizers are often absorbed by lawn grass before they reach tree roots, and they can't penetrate compacted soil effectively. Deep injection delivers nutrients directly into the active root zone.
When should deep root fertilization be done?
Early spring (before bud break) and fall (after leaf drop) are the best times — when trees are actively moving nutrients into their root systems.
Will fertilization fix my sick tree?
Fertilization can help a tree recover from stress, but it won't fix a disease or pest problem on its own. We always recommend a health assessment before prescribing fertilization so we're treating the right problem.
